We are pleased to announce that the Republic of Croatia will again be connected directly with the United States of America after a long period of 28 years, thanks to the long-lasting negotiations between the Dubrovnik Airport and American Airlines.
Dubrovnik will be connected with the USA, namely the American city of Philadelphia, by the world’s largest airline „American Airlines“ three times per week from the 7th of June 2019 until the 27th of September 2019.
American Airlines is a member of the airline alliance „Oneworld“ and at the moment operates 955 airplanes with 122.000 employees, conducting 6.700 flights daily to 350 destinations. The flights to Dubrovnik will be operated by an aircraft type Boeing 767-300, with the capacity of 28 luxury seats in business class and 181 seats in economy class, and during the entire flight Wi-Fi services will be available to the passengers.
Philadelphia, which is situated in the State of Pennsylvania, is the largest American Airlines hub on the East Coast and the most important transfer airport for the entire United States of America. Mr. Vasu Raja, Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, on behalf of American Airlines: “American’s hub in Philadelphia is our largest in the Northeastern United States and offers seamless connections across the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. Top onward destinations include Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, New Orleans and the Bahamas.”
Given the increase of tourists from the USA in the region of Dubrovnik, we consider this to be a tremendous step for Dubrovnik, as well as for the entire Republic of Croatia.
